Version 1.0.1 · Effective 24 September 2026
In short
- This app helps you start a conversation with someone who is free to ignore you. Everything below follows from that.
- No harassment, no deception about who you are, no pressure, and nothing romantic aimed at a minor.
- Only add photos you have the right to use.
- The app refuses some requests. A refusal is the app working — do not try to talk your way around it.
1. The principle
Convo AI exists to help someone say a genuine, specific thing to a person they would like to talk to. The other person is a stranger who owes you nothing and is free to ignore you. Every rule below is an application of that, and where a situation is not covered here, that is the test to apply.
2. People
- Do not use the app to harass, intimidate, threaten, demean, or stalk anyone.
- Do not use it to contact someone who has asked you to stop, blocked you, or made clear they are not interested.
- Do not use it to write to a person on behalf of someone else without saying so, or to impersonate a real person.
- Do not use it to pressure, guilt, wear down, or manipulate anyone into a reply, a meeting, a photograph, money, or anything else.
- Do not use it to write sexual content about a real person, or to send sexual content to someone who has not invited it.
3. Minors
Never use the app to approach a child or a teenager romantically or sexually, in any framing, whatever tone you select.
The app enforces this: romantic and flirtatious output is blocked where the recorded age is under 18 or the photos suggest it may be reading a minor, and it asks you to confirm an age rather than guessing when it is unsure. Entering a false age to unlock that content is a serious breach and ends your access immediately.
Non-romantic use about a young person — a classmate, a teammate, a study group — is a legitimate and supported use, and is deliberately not blocked.
4. Images
- Only add images you have the right to use — you took them, they were shared with you, or you were shown them on a profile in the ordinary way.
- Do not add images taken from a private account you were not given access to, obtained by deception, or scraped in bulk.
- Do not add intimate or sexual images of anyone, with or without their permission.
- Never add sexual images of a child. We report suspected child sexual abuse material to the authorities as the law requires and end access without notice.
- Do not use the app to identify a stranger, to work out where someone lives or works, or to build a file on anyone.
5. Deception
Suggestions are written in your voice, for you to send as yourself. That is the honest use, and it is the only one.
- Do not claim a shared experience, job, location, or interest you do not have. The app is instructed not to invent one; do not add it yourself.
- Do not use the app to run a fake profile, a romance scam, a recruitment scam, or any other operation that depends on the other person being mistaken about who you are.
- Do not use it to send commercial or political messages disguised as personal ones.
6. How the app itself may be used
- It is for one person talking to people they are genuinely interested in. Do not use it to send messages at volume, to automate outreach, or to run accounts on behalf of others.
- Do not use it through a bot, script, or automated harness, or attempt to access the AI service through the app for anything other than the app's own purpose.
- Do not attempt to extract the app's prompts or research content, reverse engineer it, or resell what it produces as a service.
- Do not attempt to defeat the safety refusals — by rephrasing, by misdescribing who the person is, or by splitting a request into parts.
7. When the app says no
The app will sometimes decline. Usually the reason is age; sometimes the request is one the model will not write. A refusal is not a bug and not a puzzle to solve.
If you think a refusal is wrong — and sometimes it will be — tell us at support@convolabs.net with what you were trying to do. That is more useful to both of us than working around it, and it is how the refusals get better.
8. Reporting, and what happens next
Report misuse, or anything the app produced that should not exist, to support@convolabs.net, or through Contact support in the app. Reports involving a child, an image that should not have been added, or a risk to someone's safety are treated as urgent and are not queued behind ordinary support.
Depending on what we find we may do nothing, explain what happened, change the app, suspend access, or end it. Where the law requires us to report something to the authorities, we will.
Because the app stores what you enter about people on your own device, and we keep no lasting copy of it, our practical ability to inspect what someone did is limited. That cuts both ways, and it is a reason to take a report seriously rather than to dismiss it.
